Mix It Up #64 : Kokomo

"Aruba, Jamaica, ooh, I wanna take you to Bermuda, Bahamas, come on pretty mama..."  Well, celebrate this new year closer to paradise with this drink via The Food Network.  It's called Kokomo. 

Kokomo

	1 oz vodka 1 oz amaretto  1 oz creme de cacao  1 oz cream of coconut  1 oz heavy cream  toasted shaved coconut, for garnish
	Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.  Add the vodka, amaretto, creme de cacao, cream of coconut & heavy cream.  Shake & strain into a cocktail glass.  Garnish with coconut.

Mix It Up #63 {Bonus}: Santa Baby

I was totally loving the Mascara Fizz for this week's Thirsty Thursday, but I had to feature the drink we will be having this evening, in celebration of both my birthday & the holiday.  It's called Santa Baby.  Don't you love it?  It's super easy to make.  I will have photos for you soon, promise!

Santa Baby

	5 oz champagne 1 oz Chombard  5-6 pomegranate seeds
	Combine the champagne & chombard in the glass of your choosing, and add 5-6 pomegranate seeds to the drink.

Mix It Up #62: Mascara Fizz

This is for the ladies... It's my birthday today, so I thought I would mention a drink that I consider very femme and a must-have for any cocktail party.  It's called the Mascara Fizz, and it's courtesy of Food & Wine.  I never leave home without mascara {ok, almost never}, and I suggest that you don't go through this holiday season without this drink.

Mascara Fizz

	3 maraschino cherries, plus 3/4 oz syrup from the jar superfine sugar  3 dashes of Angostora bitters 2 brown sugar cubes 1/2 oz cherry liquer  4 oz chilled champagne
	Coat the rim of your champagne flue with a 1/2 oz maraschino cherry syrup & dip in the superfine sugar to create the SWEET rim.  Sprinkle the bitters over the sugar cubes.  Add the cherry liquer, maraschino cherries, and remainder of the maraschino cherry syrup to the flute.  Top off with champagne & sugar cubes.

Mix It Up #61 : Holiday Peppermint Martini

	5 oz vanilla vodka (Stoli) 2 oz white creme de menthe  1/2 oz peppermint schnapps
	Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.  Strain & serve in a martini glass, and top it off with a mini candy cane as your garnish.

Mix It Up #60 : Satin Rouge Martini Cocktail

I have no idea what it looks like or what it tastes like, but the name totally got me.  It sounds like something fun, something sultry, and something sweet!

Satin Rouge Martini Cocktail

	1-1/4 oz Bacardi Orange Rum 1/2 oz Bacardi Tropico Rum  1/4 oz Cherry Juice  1/2 oz pineapple juice  1 twist lemon peel
	Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.  Strain & serve in a martini glass, and top it off with a mini candy cane as your garnish.
