Mark your calendars for Make a Mark

The lovely Kelley of Picture Perfect Events is one of the masterminds behind this organization called Make A Mark, which is "a campaign which strives to educate tweens between the ages of 9-14 about body image and self-esteem and help mothers build positive relationships with their daughters."  Make it a point to pass the word on about this fabulous event, that can truly make a world of difference in a pre-teen girl's life.

Although I am a mother of a 6-year-old boy, I truly stand behind Make A Mark, having attended an all-girls high school in San Diego and believing in its message.  This is more than an event that will teach female empowerment, it will lead young ladies through the path of self-discovery, and Kelley believes it will show them how wonderful it is to feel comfortable in their own skin.  I agree.  Who doesn't need that?  It's not just for young girls, it's a chance to crack open the discussion for those moms who can't get it started.  If you are interested in attending, please email me or Kelley!

Reminder : Soi-Meme is this weekend

Last month, I posted about the fabulous Soi-Meme event brought to us by Doreen Donoghue of Pink Cloud Events.  Here's a reminder that it's this weekend, so please remember that it's going to be an awesome event & fantastic learning experience!  Being green & eco-friendly is such a hot trend right now, so you can get some ideas on how to incorporate some of these concepts into your day!

Looking for a deal when it comes to bridal gowns...

Calling all brides who love Alfred Angelo, but are on a tight budget... Alfred Angelo is proud to announce a chance to dash down the aisle with the grand opening of their first bridal outlet store!  That's right my friends, a bridal gown outlet.  Who doesn't love the outlets?

An Event You SoCal Brides Cannot Miss : Soi-Meme

Well, friends, let me start by apologizing for not having the necessary "accent" marks for Soi-Meme.  It's pronounced (swa-mem), and it is the "day-long salon with workshop sessions for eco-conscious brides and grooms." 

This August 29 event at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center is brought to us by Sarah Shewey, owner of Pink Cloud Events.  The workshops promise to bring "insightful tips and new ideas", on top of introducing you to some fabulous vendors.

If you missed the successful "Love is in the Air" ec0-luxe bridal salon last year, you must register today!!  "Soi-Meme is the place for DIY brides and grooms to find the perfect items they've been searching for, pick-up expert tips on planning a smooth and authentically green wedding, as well as have a fun time sharing their stories with each other in a serene environment," says Sarah Shewey.

Plus, a large portion of proceeds will go to the non-profit organization, charity: water!
